Bhagyashree is an Indian actress. She is best known for her debut lead role in the film Maine Pyar Kiya for which she won the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year,She Patwardhan commonly known as She is an Indian film and television actress. She came into limelight when she made Bollywood debut with Rajshree Production’s Blockbuster movie Maine Pyar Kiya, released in December 1989 opposite handsome lad Salman Khan. Currently she is playing the role of Amrita Swaika in Life OK’s show ‘Laut Aao Trisha,She made her acting debut in television sector with the serial Kacchi Dhoop directed by Amol Palekar, and then acted in Telugu film Maharatna Rana. Though she gained a lot of popularity from Maine Pyar Kiya. followed by movies like Ghar Aya mera Pardesi (1990), Paayal, Tyagi, Qaid Mein hai bulbul (1992). After marriage, she acted in films, Peepat’s Qaid Main Hai Bulbul, K.C. Bokadia’s Tyagi and Mahendra Shah’s Payal all opposite her husband Himalaya. She then took a break from films for rest of this decade and returned to movies with 2001 film Hello Girls. She later appeared in Janani (2006), Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006) and Red Alert : The War Within (2008). She made her debut in Marathi films with the romantic comedy Zhak Marli Baiko Keli in June 2009. She is the promoter of a media company Shrishti Entertainment with her husband. Bhagyashree also did a TV commercial for Parag Sarees. She was seen in Didi Ka Dulha, a comedy serial on national broadcaster Doordarshan.
