Amyra Dastur takes acting lessons for Rajma Chawal, here’s why – To play the role of a rebellious girl from Meerut in Rajma Chawal, Amyra Dastur had to undergo intense workshops. She worked on her dialogue skills as this role needed her to have the correct diction. Among the three teachers who taught her was actor Adil Hussain, who trained her in getting her body language right, while she learnt the art of improvising from theatre personality NK Sharma. Veena Mehta trained her in dialogue delivery and diction every day for two hours for one month.
Says Amyra, “I had to unlearn everything I knew about acting to make this character seem fresh and relatable. Anirudh (Tanwar, her co-star) and I were a part of NK Sharma’s theatre group from last October until the first day of our shoot, which was on November 7. We did improvisations and all sorts of acting exercises for about five hours daily. We worked with him for around 45 days.”
