Anushka Sharma is an Indian actress and former model, who is seen in Bollywood films. She made her acting debut with Aditya Chopra’s “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” opposite Shahrukh Khan. After that, she has acted in many movies like ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, ‘PK’, ‘NH10’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Sultan’ and many more. Now she will be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
Anushka Sharma was born on May 1, 1988 to Col. Ajay Kumar Sharma and Ashima Sharma in Ayodhya, U.P.. Her father works in Indian Army who hails from Uttar Pradesh and mother is a housewife belongs to Garhwali. She was brought up in Bangalore and completed her studies from Army School. She is a graduate in Arts from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Yash Chopra’s romantic film “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”.
Bollywood actress turned producer Anushka Sharma, has proved her talents in different zones. She made her debut as a producer under her home banner Clean Slate Films, with NH10. Now she has announced her second movie, in which she will be seen as female lead. The film is titled as Phillauri, which will be co-produced with Fox Star Studios. The film also features Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma.
About her movies and why she got into production she said, “People asked why I was doing it in the prime of my career. But we only say this about actresses because we assume that they need to do it to find work towards the end of their careers. I’m not into production to make films that glorify me or to replicate films that have worked at the box office. I’m doing it because I want to create quality cinema.”
