Ileana D’Cruz is an Indian film actress who is popular in bollywood. She started her career as a model and later debuted with the Telugu film Devadasu in 2006 directed by Y.V.S.Chowdhary. He spotted her in a Fair and Lovely ad film directed by Rakesh Roshan. She went on to appear in commercially successful ventures Pokiri (2006), Jalsa (2008) and Kick (2009). D’Cruz then made her Tamil film debut alongside Ravi Krishna in Kedi and made a comeback in Shankar’s Nanban (2012). In 2012, she made her debut in Bollywood with Barfi opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. She was seen in the bollywood movie Rustom.
The manager of the hotel where Ileana’s mother was working, suggested that she has a beautiful face with a vibrant smile and should start modelling and fixed a meeting with Marc Robinson. Her first portfolio was created in January 2003. Her second portfolio was set up in the following year, which landed her three advertisements from Electrolux, Emami Talc and Fair and Lovely.
Ileana was born to a Catholic father, Ronaldo Leo who is a Lawyer and a Muslim mother, Samira. While growing up, she lived in Goa for about seven years. Her first name comes from Greek mythology, meaning Helen of Troy. Ileana is very much close to her mother. She has three siblings – older sister Farrah, younger brother Rhys and youngest sister Eileen.
