Jacqueline Fernandez is an Indian film actress who acts in Bollywood movies. She is also a former model and has won the Miss Sri Lanka Universe Pageant in 2006. She is known to work in a number of Hindi movies, while has done her graduation in Mass Communication. She has worked as a journalist after completing her course in Sri Lanka and at the same time she did modelling as well. She got her first break to act in Aladin in 2009 for which she received the IIFA awards under debut category and exciting face of the year as well from Stardust.
As far as her early life is concerned, she comes from a mixed ethnic family wherein her father is Sri Lankan and mom comes from Malaysia, however, her great grandparents belong to Goa. She is the youngest in her family with three elder brothers. Though she was born in Sri Lanka but was brought in Bahrain. At the age of 14 she started hosting shows in this country. Later, she went to Australia to do her Mass Communication and then reverted to Sri Lanka to work as TV reporter. She then covered a number of political stuff and at the same time gave her offer from modelling industry owing to her look and charm she has. This made her participate in Miss Sri Lanka Universe in 2006, wherein she won the title at Los Angeles. In 2007, she was seen in her first TV commercial – Bhathiya followed by a music video in Sri Lanka called Santhush.
In 2009, she got her first break in Bollywood movie called Aladin wherein the played the character of Jasmine. Her performance gave a mixed review giving her more applauds for her looks and acting as well. Her next moment was the romantic comedy called Jaane Kaha Se Aayi Hai, which couldn’t garner positive reviews about her acting skills. Her next assignment was of an item song called Dhanno in Houseful 1 wherein she had a cameo performance. However, her big hit in terms of performance of her acting skills and movie came with the erotic thriller called Murder 2. She got lots of attention for her sex appeal and boldness, which she has portrayed in the movie along with giving some of the best acting skills.
