Malaika Arora recently attended an event wherein she was called ‘Malaika Arora Khan’, her former husband’s surname attached to her name. Malaika did not approve of this at all.
Malaika and her husband Arbaaz Khan filed for a divorce in November 2016 and were officially separated on May 11, 2017 after a long marriage, dating back to 1998. Not too long ago, she was invited to an event as a chief guest and the name on her chair had not been adjusted in light of her recent divorce.
Malaika apparently disputed this and had the organisers of the event change the name immediately. Rumours that state they may get back together have been proven false by an interview conducted by Mid-day with Arbaaz Khan.
The actor stated, “My association with Malaika spans over two decades. So, I have always been on good terms with her family. We celebrated special occasions earlier too. If things haven’t gone well between us, it doesn’t mean that the equation with the family changes. They still have a lot of love and affection for me and I have respect for them…”
Word has it that Malaika has also asked her ex-husband for Rs 15 crore alimony but this has not been confirmed as yet.
