Priyanka Chopra is an Indian actress popular in Bollywood and Hollywood. In 2002, she first appeared in the Tamil song ‘Thamizhan' and in 2003 made her Bollywood debut with the movie ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy' as a supporting actress. She performed her first lead role in the movie Andaaz(2003). She got honoured for her achievements in Hindi cinema and was bestowed with Padma Shri title from the President, Pranab Mukherjee, at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Priyanka Chopra has signed Kalpana Chawla's biopic as her next project in bollywood. The film will be mounted on an international scale. A new production company, Getway, is likely to produce the biopic. Kalpana Chawla, who hailed from Karnal, Haryana, was the first Indian woman astronaut in space.
As a producer, Priyanka is breaking new ground with Purple Pebble Pictures. After forays in Marathi and Punjabi cinema, she is now moving in a different direction. She has announced her first Sikkimese film “Pahuna” in Gangtok in association with the Ministry of Tourism Sikkim.
