Scanning Sunny Leone’s style – Considering she was the most Googled celebrity last year and she’s always elicited curiosity given her earlier brush with the adult entertainment industry, Sunny Leone’s personal style merits an analysis. While on the red carpet, she’s seen rocking willpower necklines and figure-skimming numbers, her off-duty style has been rather girl-next-door — high-street layering and comfy separates. Her litany of public appearances prove that she’s never really bothered with the brands or trends or even getting a well-known stylist on board. When she’s out attending events, she’s either seen in colour-blocked prints or leather separates and at the airports, she’s gravitated towards a casual chic dressing.
Stylist Isha Bhansali observes that Sunny has a pretty face as well as a fabulous hot bod and she can definitely be a muse to a leading design house. “Whatever we’ve seen of her, she comes across as someone with a great personality. However, her casual airport looks are rather passable and it doesn’t look like she has given her ensemble much thought,” says Isha.
NEEDS STYLING ASSISTANCE
While Sunny has often surprised style arbiters with her off-kilter and bold picks at events, she harbours an untapped potential to take her style trajectory to a new level with the right usage of brands and some styling help.
Stylist Eshaa Amiin says, “Sunny obviously needs better brands. When you wear wrong labels, the trends you’re trying to pull off are also off the mark. Also, she needs a better understanding of what works on her body. She’s built an image and needs to inject chicness to her style.”
Sunny is no doubt a stunner and looks great in bright hues and blacks, but at times her play with prints and silhouettes is rather unflattering and do great injustice to her. “She pulls off blacks and reds very well. However, I don’t see her prints game on point. The body-con silhouettes work well with her. As she’s not very tall, I wouldn’t recommend dresses which are below knee-length,” adds Eshaa.
The actress has always experimented with va va voom looks contouring her sexy body line and carries off daring cuts with great panache. But at times, this full- throttle glamazon avatar gets a tad boring. Designer Aniket Satam suggests, “She should experiment with varied genres of clothing — from relaxed fits to classic organics. What she does in a rather redeeming manner is her low-key appearances and airport looks where she smartly layers the high street labels. But she could do so much better if some more thought went into her looks.”
