Shilpa Shetty is an Indian film actress and model. She made her debut in bollywood with the film Baazigar in 1993. The following year she delivered another blockbuster hit ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ opposite Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. Her performances in Dhadkan (2000) and Rishtey (2002) were appreciated, while her portrayal of an AIDS patient in Phir Milenge (2004) won her many accolades. She will soon be seen in Sony Tv’s upcoming dance reality show “India’s Super Dancer”.
Shilpe Shetty has been offered a role in a TV series. The show will have 20-22 episodes and is based on real-life incidents and will feature inspirational stories. She said, “Though I admire the dedication of TV actors, I don’t have the time for daily soaps. TV needs a lot of time and energy.”
Shilpa was brought up into a traditional family in Mangalore that hails from the Bunt community. She is the elder daughter of Surendra and Sunanda Shetty, manufacturers of tamper-proof caps for the pharmaceutical industry. Shilpa Shetty has a younger sister Shamita Shetty, who is also a Bollywood actress. They have worked together in the film Fareb (2005).
