Shruti has started her career as a singer and later turned to acting. She made her singing debut at the age of 6. While pursuing her studies in school, she made her singing debut in the Hindi language film, Chachi 420, with her father Kamal Haasan, who also directed the film. Her second song came in Hey Ram, where she sang the bilingual versions of the title theme, Rama Rama with her father, in Hindi and in Tamil.

Shruti Haasan was born on 28 January, 1986 in Chennai, India. Her father superstar Kamal Hassan is an Iyengar and mother Sarika is a half-Maharastrian and half-Rajput. Being a daughter of renowned actors, she holds a great interest in music and cinema. She has a younger sister Akshara, an Indian film actor, screenwriter, assistant director who works primarily in Bollywood and Tamil film industry. Shruti has also persisted her stint in music with her father’s production Unnaipol Oruvan and her own music band and album.
